こちらの作品「井の頭動物園R.I.Pリス」は、井の頭動物園で亡くなったリスを描いたものです。コロナ禍の時に、年パス買って、ウォーキングと散歩をかねて、井の頭動物園にしょっちゅう行き、リス園はかかさずに入ってました。最高な空間でした！
ニュースで知った時はショックでしたが、リス園の美しい風景が、まるでおとぎ話の中の素敵な空間であったことを思い起こしながら、ありがとうの感謝の気持ちと安すらかにの思いを込めて描きました。

制限されたコロナ禍の時にメンタルが不安定にならなかったのも、リス園の癒しのお陰もあったと思います。リス園は最高な空間でした！

かつて元気に走り回っていたリスたちの姿を思い浮かべながら、その時にいたリスたちもたくさん旅立ったのかなーと思いながら、彼らの生きた証とその存在に感謝を込めて表現しました。目の輝きや体の柔らかさに、塗りつぶしては描き直しと、見る方に温かい感情が伝わるように、こだわって仕上げました。この作品を通じて、リスたちへの感謝の気持ちを共有できれば幸いです。

This work, "Inokashira Zoo R.I.P. Squirrel," depicts a squirrel that died at Inokashira Zoo. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I bought an annual pass and went to Inokashira Zoo frequently for walking and strolling, and I always went to the squirrel garden. It was a wonderful space!

I was shocked when I heard about it on the news, but the beautiful scenery of the squirrel garden reminded me of a wonderful space in a fairy tale, and I painted it with a feeling of gratitude and peace.

I think that the healing power of the squirrel garden was also what kept me from becoming mentally unstable during the COVID-19 pandemic, when we were restricted. The squirrel garden was a wonderful space!

I imagined the squirrels that used to run around energetically, and wondered if many of the squirrels who were there at that time have now departed, and expressed their proof of their lives and their existence with gratitude. I focused on the sparkle in their eyes and the softness of their bodies, and finished it so that the viewer would feel warm emotions. I hope that this work will help share my feelings of gratitude for the squirrels.
